Spiro-Spectrum General Properties
Digital spirometer
Spiro-Spectrum
is the result of four year
NeuroSoft
Company researchers' and engineers' work. The device is intended
for diagnostics of pulmonary ventilation capability disorders.
It gives an opportunity to execute the following tests:
·
Forced expiration.
It has the greatest diagnostic value since it enables to examine
up to 30 pulmonary ventilation capability parameters. The
software supports the specific test execution mode for screening
checkups.
·
Inhalation tests.
Bronchodilatation and provocation tests help to assess
respiratory airway obstruction reversibility and
hypersensitivity.
·
Quiet breathing.
Vital capacity and inspiratory reserve volume are measured in
this mode.
·
Maximum pulmonary ventilation capability.
Breathing frequency and minute volume are also measured. It can
be applied both for hyperventilation and for quiet respiratory
minute volume measuring.
Measurement Parameters:
VC test:
VC, IRV
FVC test:
FVC, FEV0.5, FEV1, FEV3, FEV1/VC, FEV1/FVC, FEV3/VC, FEV3/FVC,
MEF25%, MEF50%, MEF75%, MEF25-75%, MEF75-85%, MEF0.2-1.2l, Aex,
PEF, Tex, TPEF, VPEF, IVC, FIV0.5, FEV0.5/FIV0.5, PIF, FIF50%,
FEF50%/FIF50%
MVV test:
MVV, BF
Two digital amplifier stages are involved in the measurement
process (the first one is for low flow rates, the second is for
high ones). Amplifier stages are switched by software. It
provides the high measurement accuracy in the wide range of flow
rates.
Availability of built-in atmosphere pressure and temperature
sensors frees the user from inserting the data manually. The
parameter values are brought to BTPS standard.
The software supports operation with formulas of due values by
Clement and Knudson, by ECCS and ITS standards; as well as
enables to specify your own formulas. Moreover, you have an
opportunity to generate the report with disorder type and
intensity indication automatically.
The unit and its software are developed according to RF Health
Ministry and American Thoracic Society (ATS) recommendations on
techniques of ventilation apparatus functional examination.
Spiro-Spectrum Techniques
|
|
Quiet Breathing.
The main measured parameter is vital capacity (VC).
Moreover, inspiratory reserve volume (IRV) is also
measured. Except spirograms real-time displaying is
provided in all types of tests. |
|
|
|
|
|
Forced Expiration.
This is the most important type of test in point of
diagnostics. More than 25 parameters of pulmonary
ventilation capability are calculated (FVC, FEV1, PEF,
MEF25%, MEF50%, MEF75%, etc.). The parameters are
fundamental for medical report generation. |
|
|
|
|
|
Maximum Pulmonary Breathing Capacity.
During the test a patient breathes extremely deeply and
frequently through the unit for a short time. Breathing
frequency (BF) and minute ventilation (MVV) are
calculated. |
|
|
|
|
|
Inhalation Tests.
The software has an opportunity for inhalation test
report generation providing necessary comparison of
received parameters with the convenient presentation of
data. Software also automatically determines whether the
test result was positive or negative. |
